A Stunning 18 Carat Yellow Gold Aquamarine and Diamond Necklace, plausibly attributed to Arthur King, centrally set with an exceptional Natural, Untreated Octagonal Aquamarine of 27.11 Carats. Circa 1970.
This exceptional 18 Carat Yellow Gold (tested) Aquamarine and Diamond Necklace has been carefully sculpted with raised point designed lozenges, graduating (in width), towards the asymmetrical centre point, which is raised claw set with a spectacular Natural, Untreated, Octagonal Oval Cut Aquamarine, of 27.11 Carats, Light Blue and Eye Clean.
The central design is randomly supported on either side by a total of six Pear, Oval and Round Mixed Cut Aquamarines totalling 11.40 Carats, all Pale Blue, Eye Clean to Lightly Included. This extraordinary necklace is Interspersed with five Round Brilliant Cut Natural Diamonds totalling 0.60 Carats, of G - H Colour and VS1 - VS2 Clarity.
The Necklace interior dimension and fit is probably around 17.33".
Attributed to Arthur Henry King, USA., as verified by Kimberley Klosterman, author of "Simply Brilliant Artist - Jewellers of the 1960's - 1970's").
Arthur King sold in the UK, exclusively via Fortnum & Mason's (it was not unusual for early pieces to be unsigned).
We also received an additional and separate verbal indication regarding the likely origin of the central Aquamarine as probably Brazil.
This beautiful necklace is accompanied by an independent Gemmologist's report confirming the the gem stone assessments.
