A very fine 18ct. Yellow Gold & Silver Victorian Diamond "Comet Tail" Tassle Brooch, Circa 1870

A very fine High Carat Yellow Gold & Silver Victorian Diamond Tassle Brooch 

The principal "Old Cut" Diamond of approximately 0.60 Carats (unweighed), in a raised "Cut Out" setting (in the French style), surrounded by an oval satellite cluster of eight smaller "Old Cut" Diamonds in similar but close back settings, flanked by two foliate Diamond set wreath designs, surmounted by a Diamond set flourish with two further Diamonds, one to either side and a similar invert flourish to the bottom of the brooch suspending five graduated, tapering and articulated Diamond set tassles (in the comet tail style), with a hinged pendant receipt to the top.
