This very unusual Platinum (tested), Diamond & Sapphire "Plaque" Ring is a captivating piece of antique craftsmanship, beautifully capturing the elegance of the mid-century transition. The face of the ring comprises in principle of two "Rub-over" set "Old Cut" Diamonds, which are artfully surrounded by a further six, similarly set, well matched "Old Cut" Diamonds, making eight exquisite stones in total.
These central settings are further enhanced by numerous invisibly set "Calibre Cut" Deep Blue Sapphires, framing a stylised quatrefoil to scalloped edged setting that demonstrates remarkable attention to detail. Every element is finished with delicate "Millegrain" edging throughout, adding a subtle texture and timeless refinement that collectors adore.
The total Diamond weight has been assessed as being of 1.05 Carats approximately (unweighted), offering a wonderful presence on the hand.
